Trophy Quest - Hard Drive Issues

The Gurus received a call from Steve Knight, video editor of the new show “Trophy Quest” on the Outdoor Channel, concerning a Lacie HDD that stores clips used for the TV show. The Lacie HDD could not be read by his Apple Mac all-in-one computer. Steve used a firewire cable to connect and tried to troubleshoot using a USB cable to an Apple Mac 13.3" laptop with no result.  The Gurus tried connecting to a PC with no avail and with the understanding the drive was unrecognizable. We then connected the drive with a separate firewire cable to a 2006 Apple Mac 13.3" laptop located at the Dojo and were able access the drive. Much to Steve’s delight, he then sent over another HDD and the Gurus copied over a few 100 GB onto the “working” drive. We assessed that the HDD could possibly be going bad. Trophy Quest’s show is on Thursday at 2:30 pm, Friday at 12:00 am, and Saturday at 10:00 pm.

Tips On Design - New Office Installation

When award winning interior designer Tippy McMichael made the decision to open a store in downtown Eatonton she called on the Gurus to help her get started.  We got her up and running on a highly portable 13" Toshiba Satellite laptop, networked it with the other PCs and printers in her office and also connected it up to a 42" LCD TV so Tippy can showcase her talents to her customers in style.  Add in an automated backup solution and now Tippy can focus on the things she does best and not worry about getting lost in the technology.

Lake Country Bulldog Club - Social Media & Event Marketing

The local Bulldog club needed help.  All of the football coaches and a few former players were coming to Harbor Club to play golf and later to Rock Eagle for dinner and an auction to raise money for Coach Richt's summer football camp.  The Gurus used Constant Contact to allow participants to register and pay via credit card online.  We also launched an email marketing campaign to let local members know of all upcoming events.  The Bulldog Club now has an updated website and Facebook page thanks to the Gurus.  Last year's event saw 40 teams in the golf tournament, over 600 perople for dinner at Rock Eagle and a check for $50,000 was presented to Coach Richt.  That's a day the Gurus were proud to be a part of!
